Day Procedure Unit

The day procedure unit admits all patients for theatre in the new surgical admissions unit and provides an endoscopy service as well as providing pre and post operative care for a range of surgical specialty patients.

Surgical specialties include:

Bone marrow biopsies
Colonoscopies
Gastroscopies
Bronchoscopy
Medical infusions
Local anaesthetic removal of skin lesions

Day procedure unit staff provide additional support through their pre and post operative phone calls to patients to ensure all is well and proceeding as planned. This assists staff in developing our service, and preliminary identification of our client needs.
