The Central Sterilising Services department is committed to the pursuit of excellence in patient care through the effective processing of reusable surgical and medical instruments and equipment and the provision of sterile supplies.
The department provides a system of collection and delivery to the Bendigo Hospital and Anne Caudle Centre campuses, as well as inspection of equipment, cleaning and decontamination, packaging and sterilising of medical and surgical equipment for Bendigo Health and external customers.

The department is also a resource centre for other organisations, students and external clients.
All processing is in compliance with the Australian Standard 4187 (2003) and the Infection Control Guidelines for the prevention of transmission of infectious diseases in the health care setting (2004).
