Please bring details of the patient's insurance cover to hospital.  Private patients are responsible for hospital accommodation costs and for accounts rendered by medical practitioners, including diagnostic tests.  Inpatient stay charges are automatically sent to the health funds and if an excess applies a letter is sent to the patient.

Except for television rental and discharge medications, hospital and medical costs for public patients are covered.
