Bendigo Health has a Level 2 Special Care Nursery, where highly trained staff can provide specialist neonatal services to babies born at Bendigo Hospital and also to babies born at other hospitals requiring a higher level of care.
The Special Care Baby Unit is on Level 3, Phillips Building.
Babies may need to be admitted to Special Care for many reasons, including:
- Prematurity
- Low birth weight/small for dates
- Breathing difficulties
- Jaundice
Parents are welcome to ring and visit at any time.
