When a general practitioner orders a pathology test the patient must attend the laboratory in Arnold Street (Bendigo Hospital Campus) for blood or other samples to be taken.  Other than for some specialised tests, no appointment is needed.

A collection site is also available at the John Bomford Centre in Condon Street, Bendigo on weekdays 8:30am to 10:30am.

Some specialised tests may be referred to specialist practitioners.  However all other tests performed in the Bendigo Health laboratory are bulk-billed and paid by Medicare, and/or by private health insurance funds for insured patients.
