The Mitiamo Football Netball Club held their charity run on Sunday 2 March 2008. In its second year the Mitiamo to Lake Weeroona charity run raised over $5,300 for the Sanctuary for Kids Appeal at the Bendigo Hospital. Most of Mitiamo's footballers from seniors to under 17's plus some netballers took part in the 71km run. Marathon runners Scott Orchard and David Eadie also took part in this fundraising event.
