About Us

Fundraising for the Bendigo Hospital began many years ago during Bendigo's gold rush.

Traditional fundraising activities were held each year to supply bandages, wood for the fires, food for the patients and other items that helped make the patients more comfortable.

The Bendigo Chinese community raised money through the Easter festival, this supplied a substantial amount of funds to help the hospital care for the large number of miners and their families.

Since then fundraising has changed dramatically. It has now become an everyday occurrence for a charity to phone, mail or seek through the press, donations for worthy causes all over Australia and the world. At the same time local charities continue their work within this community but struggle to raise enough money to improve local services.

were donated towards the Bendigo hospital.

Bendigo Health's fundraising team began in 2001 to raise money for the 'Raise the Roof' project (cancer patient accommodation). Since the success of 'Raise the Roof' many other wonderful projects have been successfully completed thanks to the ongoing support of our community.

Thank you for your community spirit, we couldn't do it without you!
